Information for speakers

Speakers must bring their presentations on their own laptop computer, have it powered on and ready to connect to the LCD projector.

Both PC-style VGA and HDMI connections to the projector will be supplied. For not standard connections, in particular Mac OS users, must make sure that they have the correct adaptor plug and that video “mirroring” is activated.

In the lecture hall, there will be a multi-port switchbox so that speakers can connect their laptop before the session. Each speaker is responsible for promptly connecting to the projector and switching to the correct input port. Speakers are asked to test their laptop connection and screen resolution settings in the speakers practice room (or in the lecture hall prior to the start of the session).

There will be no technical support provided for speakers’ equipment. Speakers should bring a copy of their presentation on a USB pendrive as a back-up (just in case of laptop failure). However, session timing must be followed and no additional presentation time will be offered in the case of technical difficulties.
Speakers may use the speakers practice room located on the second floor of the U-2 building to practice their presentations prior to their sessions (with the provided LCD projector and screen). This room will be opened for speakers to use from Monday till Thursday, at 8:00 until 19:00.

Information about posters

There are two poster sessions scheduled for the conference:
Tuesday, 14 July 2015, at 16:30-18:00, poster session A
Thursday, 16 July 2015, at 16:30-18:00, poster session B

Both sessions will take place in the tent (the same one as for the lunches) located close to the entrance to the building U-2 in which the conference takes place.

A0-format magnetic boards (long side vertically oriented) are available. The small magnets enabling pining up the posters are supplied. The poster boards are labelled with poster number (ID) which you received during the registration.

You are kindly asked to pin up your poster on the day of the poster session in the morning, before 10:30, and remove it after 18:00 before leaving the conference place for your dinner. The authors are requested to actively attend their posters.

European Physical Society (EPS) funded a special prize for the best student poster presentation to recognize excellence in research and presentation. The award consists of a 200 EUR cash prize and a award certificate. A jury consisting of three distinguished professors nominated by the Program Committee will evaluate the posters during the poster sessions. The EPS poster prize for the best poster will be announced at the closing remarks.

Information for conference attendees

As a courtesy to the speakers, conference attendees are asked to be respectful of their colleagues by turning off all cell phones before entering the lecture hall in building U-2.

The conference attendees are strictly prohibited from using cameras and all other recording devices in all oral and poster sessions. Attendees are not permitted to take pictures of speaker slides or posters or to make video recording of presentations.
